Obituary of Lucille E. Williams
Lucille E. Williams, 87, formerly of Heritage Hills, Somers, NY, died on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her residence in Norwalk CT. She resided in various towns throughout Westchester County for most of her adult life.
Lucille was born on August 20, 1937, in Salem, MA to the late Henry & Corinne Berube. She was the youngest of 3 siblings, Irene Favreau and Robert Berube, who have all predeceased her. She married William (Bill) Williams in 1959 and they divorced 44 years later.
She attended St. Christian Catholic grammar and high schools in Salem, MA. Lucille graduated with honors from Regis College, Weston, MA with a B.S. in Food Sciences. She began her career as a dietician at The Bronx Veterans Administration. She truly enjoyed her career as a registered dietician at Westchester County Medical Center (WCMC), in Valhalla NY, where she worked in pediatrics for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. To this day, her colleagues at WCMC remain dear friends.
Lucille was very outgoing, participating in many social and civic activities throughout her life. She was an avid bridge player, playing several times per week. She was both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader when her children were younger. For over a decade, Lucille transported Heritage Hills residents to their medical appointments. She worked the election polls for The League of Women Voters, co-chaired the Heritage Hills Culinary Club for many years and was involved in her condo board association. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain. She shared her love of cooking with all her knew her. Her recipes are legendary! Lucille was a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Goldens Bridge NY. Lucille love to travel the world but what she loved the most were her summers on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, NH. “The Lake” was the magnet that drew her extended family together, year after year.
Lucille was the loving mother to Mary Ellen Gallagher (John) of Westport, CT, John (Doreen Davidson) of Mt. Kisco, NY, Chris (Sarah Mann) of Scituate, MA and Robert (Audrey) of Brysoncity, NC. Lucille adored her 4 grandchildren and enjoyed watching them blossom- Sarah Kalin (Matt), Jaime Williams, Sean (Emma) Gallagher and Deanna Williams (Ben Strict). Lucille recently became a great grandmother to Theo Gallagher.
A Memorial Service will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Wednesday, September 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
