Lawrence Lewis (Larry) Fursich of Somers, New York, formerly of the Bronx passed away suddenly at the age of 62. Larry was a retired NYC firefighter and owner of Appeal Moving Company, which he founded to right an injustice. He is survived by his wife Alice, his daughters Christina and Alicia, his mother Louise, his brother Robert (Sandy), his sister Lew Ann Lodes (Carl), brother and sister in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Lewis.
Larry was proud to serve on the New York City Fire Department. He was an avid New York Yankee fan as well as a New York Giants fan. He hated the Mets and the Boston Red Sox. He coached softball and basketball in the town of Somers. Larry had a special gift for nicknaming friends and family. Those lucky enough to receive one were honored to embrace it.
His family will receive friends on Friday, January 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church,95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY. Interment will follow at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY
