Obituary of John Joseph Tenaglia
John J. Tenaglia (Sonny), 96 of Heritage Hills, Somers, NY for over 20 years, formerly of the Bronx, Ardsley and Armonk died peacefully on June 17, 2024. Only child of Romeo and Connie, graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1947 and attended Farleigh Dickenson University. He later decided to become a plumber and eventually retired from his own business, JT Plumbing in 1994.
He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph's Church in Somers. In his earlier years, he enjoyed skiing, ice skating, dancing and bowling. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, good food, the beach and of course the Yankees.
He was a proud patriot and bravely served in the Korean War as a member of the Artillery in both Korea and Japan and was awarded numerous medals for his service. Sir John J. Tenaglia was a fourth degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and most recently a member of the Carmel and Mohegan Chapters.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Gina (Segreti), daughter Claudia Lucisano (Frank) of Ridgefield CT, son John of Peekskill, grandchildren Amy, Frank, John, Vincent, great granddaughter Lucy as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Johseph Lucisano (2006).
Visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY 10536 on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Somers. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY
