Obituary: James McHugh

McHugh, James 81, “Jimmy” of Katonah, NY died on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, FL. Jimmy was born in Cashel Dowra County Cavan Ireland to the late Ann & Peter McHugh. Jimmy was the 7th of 9 children and survived by 3 siblings and 26 nieces and nephews.

Jimmy immigrated to the United States at the age of 19. He was a Foreman for New York Telephone Company for 35 years and retired in 1991. Jimmy was past Treasury of AOH Div. 16 Mt. Kisco, NY, member of the Verizon Pioneers and Emerald Society. Jimmy and his wife in their retirement devoted their time to numerous charitable organizations including; Rosary Hill, Hospice of Westchester, Tara Circle, FISH (Friends in Service Helping). He was an usher at St. Mary’s church for 49 years.

Beloved husband of Margaret P. McHugh (nee Sugrue) for 56 years, devoted father of Mary B. Reilly (Charles) of Sarasota, FL., Eileen T. Martini Pittsburgh, PA., James F. McHugh (Lynette) Katonah, NY., Peter A. McHugh (Jennifer) South Salem, NY.

Loving grandfather of Ryan, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Olivia, James Jr., Meghan, Sonya & Ronin.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 23rd from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Of The Assumption Church, 55 Valley Rd., Katonah, NY 10536. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 236 Lexington Ave, Mt Kisco, NY 10549.
