It is with heavy hearts we learn the very sad news of John's passing. We honor John's life, memory and service as we do all the members of the 70th Infantry division who gave so much so that future generations can live in peace and freedom.
John was a true member of American's Greatest Generation and a hero to all of us.
Fred Sabatine
President-elect
70th Infantry Division Association

Waldie was part of my childhood in Cross River. I remember walking down to the Fifth Division just about every day to pick up something Mom forgot or just to say hi. After these many years, when I think of home, Waldie is always part of those happy early memories. My sincere sympathies to Ann, Jack, and all the Gullens. He was special!

What a wonderful life well lived. He and Barb were friends and classmates of my parents, Lindsay Northam and Janice Kellogg. The Kellogg family had a cottage across the lake and we often paddled across the lake to visit with them. Those were the days. My deepest condolences.

Waldie was a part of my childhood. I have been in Texas for 44 years but can still remember his whistle and “what’s up Sputnik”…which meant nothing to me at the time, but now, given the space race in the early 60’s, means everything! I even worked one summer for Jack, who can confirm I was not cut out for carpentry!
The world is a little less well without Waldie!

Waldie was one of my very best friends and hunting companion. I treasure all the wonderful times we had together and the pleasant memories of our relationship.
