Obituary of Richard S. Pochintesta
Pochintesta, Richard S., Sr. 86, of Katonah, NY passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born on September 19, 1930 in Manhattan, NY to the late Felice and Marie Pochintesta. Richard served twenty-one years in the Army National Guard.
He was a graduate of Harren High School where he received his high school diploma. Richard worked for the New York State Department of Corrections until 1991. He was a volunteer fire fighter at Katonah Fire Department for 48 years where he was former Captain of the Rescue Company and the creator of the original Fire House Chili recipe.
Richard is the beloved husband of Rosemarie and is the loving father of Theresa (Kevin) Koch of Boulder, CO, Richard Jr. (Dori) of Brewster, NY, and William (Carla) of Katonah, NY. He is the devoted grandfather of Nicole (Patrick), Adrienne, Kayla, Richard III, and Matthew. Richard is the brother of late Angelina, John, Teresa, Louis, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
His family will receive friends on Friday, February 17th from 4:00-8:00 p.m at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Of The Assumption Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY.
Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Mount Kisco.
