Obituary of Dorothy Breen

Breen, Dorothy J., 87, of Somers, NY, passed away at home on August 5th, 2016. Dorothy was born in New York, NY, October 12, 1928 to the late Joseph and Rose (Prinzivalli) Castorina. Dorothy is the loving mother of two daughters: Patricia (Michael) Sheridan of Yorktown Heights, NY and Cathy (Andrew) Carrano of Fairfield, CT. Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Kathryn Sheridan and Caroline, Isabella and Sophia Carrano. A graduate of Hofstra University, with a Master’s Degree in Education, Dorothy was a passionate first grade teacher at Seaford Manor School for over thirty years. After retiring, Dorothy moved to Heritage Hills where she was engaged in many community activities. Dorothy was a lifetime learner who strongly valued education. She enjoyed traveling, music and was an avid golfer. The family will receive friends on August 8th from 2-6pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 9th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY 10589. Interment will follow at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532-2502.
