The family of Millie L. Cammarata (Noto) announces with sadness that she passed away peacefully on August 18, 2016 in Somers, NY at the age of 94 after a courageous battle with cancer. Millie was born in Manhattan on March 25, 1922. She was predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Luisa Noto as well as her beloved husband, Anthony and three sisters: Bessie D’Orazio, Mary Longo and Ann Loverro.
Millie is survived by one sister, Josie Valentino, and three devoted children, Jim (Mary Ellen) of the Bronx, Anthony (Carolyn) of Valhalla and Lisa Ross (Jon) of Somers. She also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren – Michael (Cathy), Daniel (Caroline), Anthony (Tara), Jonathan, Matthew and Katie, as well as five great-grandchildren – Grace Marie, Kelli-Ann, Thomas, Winston and Wyatt.
Millie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.
Together with her husband Anthony, they enjoyed a wonderful life together and 66 years of marital bliss, until his death in 2012. Her profound love of family symbolizes the way in which she lived her life. She was endearing, caring and kind beyond all measure. She was incredibly unselfish always placing the needs of others before her own. She had a twinkle in her eye and positive attitude that was contagious – always seeing the best in other people and circumstances. There was not a day she did not make you feel as though you were the most important person on earth. For her family and friends left behind, they will forever remember how lucky they were to have had her love and friendship for as long as they did.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 21st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10 am, at St. Joseph’s Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY followed by interment at Rose Hills Cemetery 101 Mill Street Putnam Valley, NY
