Obituary of Margaret A. Gerkhardt

   Margaret A. Gerkhardt “Peggy” 93 of Somers, NY formerly of Yonkers, NY died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Putnam Hospital Center.

   Peggy was born on June 17, 1924 in Bronx, NY to the late Peter J. and Clara (Mueller) Gaffga. The beloved sister of the late Adam Gaffga and the late Claire Coester. She was married to the late Albert F. Gerkhardt for 63 years.

Peggy lived a long, busy, and full life; she loved spending time with her family, traveling, camping, reading and shopping especially for grand and great-grandchildren.

   Peggy was the loving mother to Elise and the late Anthony Carbillano, Peter and Christine Gerkhardt, Roger and Marie Gerkhardt, Alice and Raymond Godziemski. The devoted grandmother to Heather and Eddy Chapdelaine, PJ and Julia Gerkhardt, Adam and Noelle Gerkhardt, Lindsey and Dan Gallagher, and Zach Gerkhardt, and great-grandmother to Hope, Ethan, Gabriel, Hayden, Jackson and Wyatt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 5th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY.  Interment will follow at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY.
