Obituary of Yolanda Filosa

Filosa, Yolanda, 94, of South Salem, NY, formerly of the Bronx, Mount Vernon and Yonkers, died Monday, March 7, 2016, at Northern Westchester Hospital. Yolanda was born on December 29, 1921, in the Bronx, one of nine children of Italian immigrants. She was the beloved wife of Emanuel Filosa, who died in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Meyer-Gross (Peter Gross) of South Salem, with whom she had been living since June 2015, and Ellen (Steven) Bannen of Cortlandt Manor, two granddaughters, Heather Meyer (George Gierer) of South Salem and Anne (Patrick) Taylor of Tarrytown and a great grandson, Wyatt Gierer of South Salem. Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Wednesday, March 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment will be at a family service at Woodlawn Cemetery on March 10. The family is hosting an informal memorial gathering at the home of Elizabeth Meyer-Gross in South Salem on Thursday, March 10, at 7:00 PM.
