Obituary of Margaret C. Donohue

Margaret (Peg) Donohue, a resident of Somers, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, surrounded by family. Peg was born on October 3,1932 to Michael and Kathleen (Kelly) Corcoran in Bronx NY. She was raised in City Island with her sisters Ann Bates and Kathleen Schiff. In 1952 she married Warren J. Donohue at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, City Island and together they raised their family in New City, NY. Peg obtained a degree as a Practical Nurse in the Rockland County BOCES program, where she graduated at the top of her class. She began a career in banking management becoming the Asst. Manager of Empire Savings Bank in New City.  Peg will be remembered for her love of reading, music, animals and her Irish Heritage. She was a devoted mother to her adored four children; Warren (Lauren) of Rock Tavern NY, Brian (Maureen) of Brewster NY, Meg (Tom Sivulich) of Hawthorne NY and Kevin (Mary) of New City NY. She is also survived by her nine cherished grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave, Hawthorne NY with interment immediately following.
