Obituary of Dr. Robert J Dell'Angelo

Dr. Robert J. Dell’Angelo, age 87, of Pound Ridge, N.Y., died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Greenwich Hospital after a long battle with multiple myeloma.   He was married for 61 years to Gracemarie Dell’Angelo, who survives him. 

He was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on December 6, 1931, son of John and Carrie Dell’Angelo.   In 1954 he graduated from Syracuse University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.  He was a member of the class of 1959 of Boston University School of Medicine.  He completed his internship at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital.

 After serving honorably as a Captain in the United States Air Force, he completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.  He practiced obstetrics and gynecology for many years in Mount Kisco, N.Y.

  In retirement, he enjoyed travel, music and the arts, and spending time with his family.  

He was a member of the University Club in New York City, and a parishioner of St. Matthew’s  Episcopal Church.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by Lisa Dell’Angelo and David Olgaard (his daughter and son-in-law), Robert Dell’Angelo and Theresa Fuentes (his son and daughter-in-law), and four grandchildren, Isabella, Talia, Anthony, and Michael.

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 382 Cantitoe St., Bedford, N.Y., 10576.  A reception will follow.
