Obituary of Helen B. Dunn

 Helen B. Dunn of Bedford Hills died on Monday, March 4, 2019 in her home surrounded by family.

Mrs. Dunn was born in White Plains, NY on March 16, 1930 to Albert and Hermine Baumberger. She spent her childhood in Chappaqua, NY and graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1948. Upon graduation she worked for the former General Precision Laboratories in Pleasantville until her marriage in 1954 to Matthew J. Dunn.

From 1975 she worked at the Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, retiring in 1999 as Secretary to the Superintendent. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, reading and playing scrabble.

Mrs. Dunn had previously lived in Katonah for many years before moving to Bedford Hills. Mrs. Dunn is survived by her loving children, John, Timothy (Iolanda), Matthew (Holly), and Helen (Arthur), her grandchildren, Amanda and Melissa Piebes, Casey and Jesse Dunn, and her great grandsons, Michael Joseph and Aston Sotanski, and great granddaughter, Emma Lois Avila. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of Colorado.

Her parents and sisters, Elizabeth Schloemer, Margaret Corl, and Ruth McKenna predeceased her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th, from 4PM-8PM at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, PO Box 158, Katonah, NY 10536.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 8th at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY 10536. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY.
