Obituary of Richard J. Rizzuti
Richard J. Rizzuti passed away at the age of 76 on April 23, 2019 in Lynbrook, NY, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by 3 children – sons Richard (Denver, CO) and Adam (Katonah, NY), and daughter Jessica (New York, NY) – 4 grandchildren and a younger brother, Ronald (California).
Richard was born in Jersey City, NJ to Leonard and Esther (Mascitelli) Rizzuti on May 13, 1942. He was the oldest of the couple’s three children.
Richard was an accomplished physician in the field of Radiology. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Princeton University and a Medical Degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He later completed his Medical Residency at NY Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. His first professional position was as a Radiologist for the Military, where he served some of the nation’s top Generals and Military officers at the Pentagon. Richard entered private practice in Alexandria, VA before ultimately relocating to Westchester County where he continued his practice at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY. He would later complete his career in medicine at Open MRI in Hempstead, NY.
Richard was passionate about the games of baseball and golf, but nothing compared to his love of family. He especially enjoyed sharing his many hobbies with his children. Richard will be sorely missed by his extended family and countless friends he’s made throughout the years.
