I first met Aldo somewhere around late '69 - early '70. He was a fireman in Engine 90 on WPR and I had already begun a career with the FDNY as a dispatcher. After work I would stop over there and chat with the fellas and jump on the rig if they went out the door. Aldo was a true gentleman. But he would NEVER let me play cards with him or the other guys, Al Gileno, Sam DeCesare, Tony Panzerino, Bob Santulli, just to name a few. I just wasn't good enough. But Aldo always made me feel comfortable and welcomed in the house, always finding the time to chat with me. I finally got to play cards with him when he got promoted to lieutenant and bounced around Harlem and the Bronx. I remember playing cards with him when he was covering a spot down in the Fire Factory (E-58) and we played until about 4 AM. He always won! Or if I won it was because he let me! I loved to go clamming and after he retired I would bring him bushels of clams...sometimes 2 or 3 days in a row! He would tell me "STOP...I have enough and no place to put them". Even after he moved out of the Bronx and I retired we kept in touch and was amazed at the magnitude of his Catholicism. As long as I am able to pray you will be in my prayers. May God forever hold you in the palm of His hand. Peace, my friend.

Let me start off by saying that Aldo was a kind and lovely man. I met him in 1968 when my family moved 2 houses down on the same block in the Bronx. I have fond memories of the times we played basket ball in the back yard. He was quite a jumper and hardly missed the shot. Condolences to Lena, John and Janet.
