I was his student during 1993-1994 Sophomore year in biology at White Plains High School. I asked him once how a paramecium could move its cilia for locomotion, if it didn't have any muscles as it was a unicellular organism. He always encouraged me and said it was a great question that I should research further. I remember one time during Spring 1994 that Mr. Hazelton held the class on the lawn outside to identify some of the plants there. I remember the class as it was the first class of the day during that academic year. It was a great class. We all loved Mr Hazelton. Those are good memories. I had just arrived in the United States that year with my family, in June of 1993, from Kuwait, and it was difficult adjusting to the change from 9th grade in Kuwait to 10th grade in the United States. Mr Hazelton was a very encouraging and friendly person. Godspeed Mr. Hazelton, you were a great teacher. I will always remember you and my time there. I will always remember Ed for all the flashy colorful ties he wore during the holidays. He was always a very kind, thoughtful person interested in what you had to say and always laughing.
