I studied with Dorothy Jonas at the Westchester Conservatory of Music in the early 1980s. In addition to being a dazzling artist and a class act, she was a dear, sweet lady truly loved by her students. She dressed beautifully, smelled great, and always had a warm and caring smile. I can still remember her tiny hands flying all over the keyboard in a blur, her diamond ring creating flashes of light as though illuminated by her powerful command of the instrument. Not lost, but gone before.
