Obituary of Susan E. Macdonald

Macdonald Susan E. “Sue” 72 of Ossining NY Died on Sept, 27th at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Ossining, NY.

Sue was born on May 21st 1948 in Northampton England to the late Sydney & Lillian (nee Barry) Hornby. She immigrated to the United States in 1971.

Sue started working at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco in 1974 as a Lab. technician, then in the Blood Bank and finally as a Computer Tech in the I.T. Dept. retiring in 2014.

Sue was the loving wife of Philip Macdonald and the devoted Aunt to Paul Kritzinger of Austin Texas and Susan Backhaus of Seering Austria. Her sister Pamela predeceased her in South Africa. She was also the beloved Cousin of Angela Brown and Victor Rallis.

She was an avid reader, loving Mysteries and detective stories and was an expert on the history of The British Royal Family. Sue and Philip travelled extensively to the Caribbean, South Africa, New Orleans and Austin to visit nephew Paul and friend Ingrid. She and cousin Angela frequently “got lost” exploring highways, byways and towns throughout New York and Connecticut.

Sue was very close to her large group of friends who have been together for many years.

A memorial gathering will be held in the near future to celebrate Sue’s life.
