Oh my dear friend this hits hard. I worked with Emilio at Genentech. He was a good mentor to me. When we drew conventions in Boston look out North End. We will share another cannoli together from Mike’s one day in heaven.

Dear DeSpirito Family--
I'm sending my thoughts and love to you on your loss of Emil. I met Emil as a young professional starting my first job out of Pharmacy school at Roche--Emil was in my Sales Division and he instantly took me under his wing as one of his "daughters"...of course I learned all about the kids and loved every second of it! Emil was absolutely hands down, one of the funniest people I have ever met in my lifetime. His smile lit up a room and if you were feeling the least bit down about anything, his kind words, funniest lines of all time, broadest smile and hugest laugh made me forget whatever was going on. His wisdom was beyond and his compassion for the people around him, especially his family, were second to none....
I wish I had some photos to share with you from those times, but they're currently in storage...when I'm able to get to them, I'll look to see if I have any--some of the funniest times, jokes and yes, "stunts" with other colleagues were Emil to a "T"!
I can only imagine the hole and pain that you are feeling but if it helps at all, your husband, dad, brother, grandfather was one VERY SPECIAL PERSON and I for one, will absolutely never forget him and what he brought to my life over the years!

Emil was such a presence. He will be sorely missed, and long remembered. My last memory of Emil was at this event in 2018, our Vet2Vet Veterans appreciation Chow Down. He was on his feet beaming...singing and cheering along with the USO show. As he will always be remembered, smiling and full of life.
Emil was such a good friend to my in-laws, driving up and back in the same day to New Hampshire to pay his respects to both of them, such a dear friend to Dad. We know he's in heaven, hopefully at a diner booth, laughing it up with my father in law as they did back in their pharmacy detail days, remembering and reminiscing about the good old days.
Emil's steadfast, unwaivering love and devotion to his family is his greatest gift and treasure. One that will live on forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and we share in your sorrow at the loss of someone so dear.

We were so saddened to hear the news about Emilio. Our hearts go out to you and your family, Rosa. Emilio, was larger than life, enjoyed living it to the fullest and was the best friend a person could have! It was a privilege to know and work with him for so many years at Roche and then the years after just having fun, whether fishing in CT, eating out at great restaurants or just receiving his funny emails. Kathie and I will always be eternally grateful to him for being our “matchmaker” and were so honored to have you both at our wedding. He knew immediately that we were meant for each other and made it his mission to get us together, calling me every few weeks asking me “What the hell are you waiting for, propose, already!” No one could tell a story like Emilio, either. I will always remember his great Air Force stories that kept me on the edge of my seat, laughing the whole way. He was truly, one of a kind and will be greatly missed by so many.
R.I.P, Emilio. Thank you for your love and friendship and your service to our country!

BEST FRIENDS until the end! My father was sick here but always smiled and loved being with his brother Emil. They could not have been more different, but one thing they shared for certain, was their generous love for their family and friends. The DeSpirito brothers are together again, hopefully getting into some trouble!
