Obituary of Carol Ann Sheerin

Carol Ann Sheerin devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 

Sheerin, Carol Ann, 80 of North Salem, formerly of the Bronx died Tuesday, July 13th at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born to John and Ann (Kovolick) Chanowsky on June 21st, 1941  in New York City. Carol grew up in the Marble Hill section of the Bronx attending St John’s and then Mother Cabrini High School. Carol married James M. Sheerin on June 5th 1965 and moved up to “the country” of North Salem in 1969 .

While raising her 3 children, Carol worked in customer service at Reader’s Digest in Chappaqua where she developed many long lasting friendships.  She loved to travel when she could, especially Italy, Ireland and Hawaii, Broadway Shows, swimming  at the club and playing mahjong with her cousins. 

Carol is survived by her devoted husband Jim, daughters Patricia (Tom) Quaglino of Brewster NY, Carolyn (Brian) Bender of South Salem NY, son Christopher of Brewster NY and loving friend Samantha Crowley (Sophie & Oliver), Her loving Grandchildren Kevin, Colin and Aidan Quaglino, Kiera Sheerin and Charlotte Bender. A granddaughter, Margaret Anne Sheerin predeceased her.  She also survived by a sister Joan (Raymond) Scannelli of Bronx NY. Nieces Deborah Zadorozny of NYC, Jennifer (Michael) Morrissey of Weston, CT (Emma, Mikey and Tommy), and nephew Eric Scannelli of Yonkers. Carol put everyone before herself and she will live on in our hearts forever. 

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home , 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah NY on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 2 to 6 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 10am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers NY.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
