Obituary of William J. Reilly
William J. Reilly, a long time resident of Katonah, NY, died peacefully at home in the comfort of his family on November 29, 2021. He was 101 years old.
Bill’s life began in Pleasantville NY, one of two sons of the late Sarah (Bond) and Peter Reilly and was predeceased by his brother, Peter J. Reilly.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Margaret J. Fox of Mt. Kisco, NY and the loving father of six children: Colleen and husband Joseph Todd, William and wife Mary Beth Reilly, Peter, James, Kathleen and predeceased son, Frank; and three adoring grandchildren: Michael, Brian and Kelly Reilly.
He was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Katonah and a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus Sisqua Council #1852 of Mt. Kisco, NY.
He served his country in the European Theatre during World War II with the 76th Infantry Division as a Master Sergeant. Upon returning home, he began a life long career in Fine Paper Sales for the publishing industry.
Bill was an avid sportsman; hunting, golf, skiing and ice hockey played a huge role in the activities that he shared with his children, grandchildren and friends. His greatest solitude was fly fishing; he found great joy on the rivers and streams both locally and abroad.
Bill was a kind and generous man who embraced life for more than a century. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many and will be remembered by all.
Friends and Family are invited to call at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah NY, on Thursday, December 2nd, 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Katonah, NY at 11 am on Friday, December 3rd.
Interment will be private
