Obituary of Joseph M. Tomei

Joseph (Joe) M Tomei, 64 years old, of North Salem, NY passed away January 10, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to Joseph and Raffaella Tomei on May 12, 1957 in Yonkers, NY. Joe was raised on 233rd street in The Bronx. Unknowingly, he was introduced to his future wife, Lisa, at The Church of Revelation during his Baptism. Joe and Lisa spent their childhood as best friends. Joe loved spending his youth in his neighborhood with his family and playing stick ball with his friends. Joe was the first guy to hit past two sewers! After moving up north to Bedford, NY, Joe graduated from Fox Lane High School in 1975, and went on to earn a Civil Engineering degree at The University of New Haven. Joe joined his father’s company, Calcedo Construction Corporation, of which he later became the CEO.

Joe married Lisa in 1982 and settled down in North Salem, NY. They raised their 3 children, Jaime, Cristie and Joseph in the home that he built for their family.

Joe was always the life of the party. He truly treasured time with family and friends.

He was an avid golfer, skier, fisher, gardener, baker, animal and music lover. He spent countless winters skiing with his family at Stratton, Vermont. Every summer Joe eagerly awaited for the third week of July where they traveled to Diamond Beach, NJ. This was truly his happy place. With his local friends, he was a part of a Bocce league where he enjoyed many late nights with good food and even better company. Joe had a strong faith in the Lord which he passed on to his children. Together they attended Bedford Community Church where Joe’s parents were also members.

Joe was a devoted husband, a supportive and loving father, a proud grandfather and a dedicated and generous friend. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Tomei, his three children: Jaime Tomei and her fiancé Will Canfield, Cristie Morgan and her husband Wayne Morgan, and Joseph T Tomei. He spent his last four months adoring his granddaughter Corie Morgan. He is also survived by his aunt Annamarie Bruschini and her husband Ronnie Bruschini, his two sisters Diane Zarlengo and her husband Gary Zarlengo and Carla Bonsignore and her husband Martin Bonsignore along with his many adoring nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 16th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 17th at 11:00 am at Peach Pond Cemetery, Route 121, North Salem, NY 10560 with Rev Gary Zarlengo officiating.
