Obituary of Margaret S. Taylor
Margaret S. Taylor, a 57-year resident of Bedford Hills, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 21. She was the loving daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Sterl of the Bronx, NY. She grew up there and graduated at 16 years old from Walton High School, went on to attend secretarial school and spent her early career with First National City Bank. She was a stay-at-home-mom while her children were growing up and finished her career with the Town of Bedford Water Dept. for many years until she retired in 1999.
Marney and her beloved husband, Norman who passed earlier this year, were married for 70 years. They enjoyed many years of bird watching, traveling up and down the East Coast to visit lighthouses, entertaining friends and family, and spoiling their grandchildren. But Marney will be most remembered for her Christmas cookies. She would begin baking them in the summertime and freeze literally thousands of a wide variety of them until the Holidays. She would make up plates, and plates, and plates of her creations, wrap them in cellophane and tie them with ribbon and give them as gifts to family, friends, and co-workers. All looked forward to this delicious gift every year.
Marney is survived by her loving children Ginny (Jim) and Chip, and her grandchildren, Carolyn (Matt), Jamie (Yoli) and Greg (Renee) and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Danny, Natalie and Henry. She will be truly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY on Thursday, July 28 from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Mt. Kisco, NY on Friday, July 29 at 9 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 15 S. Bedford Rd., Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
