Nick and Family What does one say when a special person like Nick passes, sending condolences just doesn't seem enough. Nick was a kind loving man, he welcomed most people into the family, I met the family more than 52 years ago when I was introduced to my husband, From there on I have not only been considered family but I consider all the Giardina's my family. I was blessed to be there for Nick's 90th birthday celebration and got to hug him one more time, We will love and miss you forever Nick. I hope you are celebrating your birthday with all your family, friends and fans who went on before you, I know you will be watching over your family and friends you will always be our special angel watching over everybody especially your loving family.

There will never be another like Nick, he was truly one of the greatest friends, mentors, family man and all around great person. With a tough exterior, he had a heart of gold and always did what he could for others. He will be forever in my heart and thoughts. There will be no peace in heaven, I heard the stock cars all starting up Sunday night up there - just the way he wants it.

My Grandfather. No words can really express exactly what you mean to me. You were so much more than a Grandfather, maybe that’s why I called you Poopa when I was too small to sound out the word properly. Lucky for me, it stuck. Though, at times, I’m not so sure you appreciated us kids screaming it from across the room of a public place. We’d definitely get some funny looks. Especially when we would shorten it. Haha! You were the one who taught me about everything in life that is most important. Whether you yelled it at me (as a wild teenager) or spoke to me one on one, I cherished and held everything you would say in such high regard. I loved picking your brain about the past, making you speak Italian and especially hearing you talk about family that had gone before I was born. I always wished I could have known them all. You had the best stories, the kindest eyes, great hair! and a beautiful soul. Please watch over me, I’ll never stop needing you. The picture I added is my grandfather’s autograph. I had asked for it a few times at home and he’d tell me; “Oh, no. You gotta get in line and wait like everybody else.” It would crack us up. I would get in that line and would have to wait because so many people still came out to see the great Nick Giardina. It was amazing to see after all these years. I love you so much Poopa.
