I have so many fond memories of Uncle Ned from my childhood. . As a child from NYC, coming out to Long Island to visit was a dream come true for me. It was the country, green grass, woods and what seemed to be a bluer sky and meadows of beautiful flowers.
I remember blueberry picking with Uncle Ned and helping him cook dinner for his collies. He loved his dogs. He would take us to Mario's in Setauket where he would let me have a Shirly temple. Boy I thought I was so special and he treated me as such all the time. He would take me to work with him sometimes and I admired his intelligence and business savvy even into his 90's. He was always a kind and funny soul and I was proud to have called him my God Father.. The stories are too many to count but I cannot leave without the most memorable of all. Mrs. Beasley was my favorite doll and he would play with me and Mrs. Beasley, especially when it was time to go back to the city. Oh how I would cry and he would let me climb up onto his lap and make me laugh and give me hugs and kisses and say …."Your in my heart always until next time." So Uncle Ned you will be missed and thank you for being such a special part of my life. You are in my heart always until next time.. XOXO Catherine

I remember Ned used to love to tell stories of when I was a kid and would visit he and Eleanor in the summer. He loved the ones where I flooded his house leaving the bath tub running upstairs and it overflowed; the one where I prematurely yelled “go” at a dog sled race between the starter’s ready, set, go call; and where I broke two gallons of milk in the back seat of his new Cadillac and it went sour and he had to sell it. He was such a good sport about all of that and more
