I am fortunate enough to be a friend of Maureen , Grace’s daughter. Although I never met her Mom,I learned that she was the most amazing, intelligent, personable, loving and unselfish Mom, Grandmother and Greatgrandmother. I grew up in the neighborhood where the Gilligans lived. That is where I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Gilligan. One of my first memories of her was that infectious laughter that she was so well known for. She laughed easily and often and her laughter and kindness truly defined her. As I became an adult I recognized a deep inner strength in Grace through her great outspoken personality. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

We had the joy and pleasure to get to know Gracie as we called her at the beach cottage of her daughter Maureen and son in law Mike. We would talk and laugh from our back decks quickly realizing what a special person she was. We would always laugh and end our conversation celebrating her joy of having that occasional Manhattan. We know she is looking down with a Manhattan in her hand and a big smile on her face. REST IN PEACE GRACIE YOU WILL BE MISSED Donna and Gary Aiken
