Obituary of Marcia H. Sack
Marcia Helene Sack (nee Greenberger) passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022 at the age of 86. Marcia began her life in the Bronx and eventually moved to New Rochelle where she spent most of her life.
Her husband of 40 years, David Sack, predeceased her in 1989. They shared a loving and happy marriage, as well as a life-long love of the NY Yankees, which played a big part in their courtship, leading to their marriage in June of 1958. Marcia loved Phil Rizzuto (Scooter), who she once had the pleasure of meeting. Holy Cow! Right up to the end of this past Yankee season in 2022, she would always asked how they were doing.
Marcia was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Amy Greenberger, and her sister, Joan Gurgold.
She is survived by her children, Karen Sack, Kenneth Sack, (Julie) and their children, Samantha and David. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marcia graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she received her degree in nursing. She received her Masters' degree many years later while working full-time and raising her children. She started her career as a nurse at Lawrence Hospital and then became a visiting nurse for the County of Westchester, where she touched the lives of many of her patients who always greeted her with hugs and praise of her kindness whenever she ran into them while shopping around town in New Rochelle.
Marcia had a great sense of humor and was not afraid to poke fun at herself. In her later years, despite going through some hardships, she never lost that sense of fun and humor. Her light shone brightly for those who knew her. She was as sweet as she was funny and always wanted to help others.
Marcia will be remembered by her friends and loved ones as generous, kind, funny and thoughtful. There will never be another one like her.
The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Marcia’s Life on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:30 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
