Obituary of Paul Ciavardini

Paul Ciavardini passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in his home at the age of 95.

Paul was born in Alatri, Italy on January 25,1928 and came to America with his family as a young boy.  He grew up in Bedford Hills, NY with his mother, Grace, father, Luigi, brothers Julius, Americo and Vito and his sister, Mary, all predeceased.  He graduated from Bedford Hills High School and joined Local 456 Teamsters Union.  He had a long 40-year career with the Union.

Paul married Dina Angi on June 25,1950 and lived briefly in Bedford Hills and then moved to Mt. Kisco, where they raised their family.

Paul loved his family.  He enjoyed harness horse racing for many years, working around the house, puttering in his garden and watching baseball.  He was a “jokester” and his family and friends enjoyed his sense of humor!

Paul was predeceased by his wife, Dina, in 2020 and his daughter, Paula Ackerly, in 2021.  He is survived by his two sons, Richard (Donna), Robert (Diane), son-in-law Raymond Ackerly (Paula) and six grandchildren, Paul Ciavardini (Danielle), Joseph Ciavardini (Nicole), Lisa Ciavardini Mulosmani (Alex), Leah Ciavardini, Nicole and Victoria Ackerly.  Paul was blessed with six great grandchildren: Isabella, Luca, Sofia, Christian, Hunter and Harper. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY on Thursday, June 1^st at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Lexington Avenue, Mt. Kisco, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
