Obituary of Peter T. Gahagan
Peter T. Gahagan, “Pete”, 76, of Pound Ridge N.Y, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in his home. He was an attorney and partner at Gahagan, Lando and Wagner and a member of the New York Bar Association, retired 2018. He was a graduate of Stepinac High School in White Plains, the University of Rochester, Boston University School of Law and past president of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at University of Rochester.
Peter was born on September 30, 1946 in Goshen, NY to the late Neil and Eleanor Gahagan. Peter is the beloved husband of Carolina and is the loving father of Douglas (Cassandra) of Mendham, NJ, Chrissy (Tim) of Ridgefield, CT, Lisa (Nick) of Wilton, CT and the late Susie. He is the devoted grandfather to his nine grandchildren – Caroline, Bridget, Neil, Mary, Brooklyn, Frankie, Peter, Eleanor and Samuel. He is predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Carroll and his brother, Robert Gahagan.
Pete truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; riding the waves in Cape May, watching Dallas Cowboy and Yankee games, cheering on his kids and grandchildren at sporting events, and playing tennis. Through his dedication in the field of law throughout Westchester County, NY, he instilled a work ethic like no other to all around him. Pete had an uncanny ability to reach people with a sense of humor and a genuine understanding of others. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Sunday, May 7th from 2-6 PM.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Bedford, NY on Monday, May 8th at 11:15 AM. Interment will follow at Pound Ridge Cemetery, 15 West Lane, Pound Ridge, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Prospector Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing competitive and inclusive employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a premium, first-run movie theater in Ridgefield, CT. Please designate “for Peter Gahagan”.
