DJ was an outstanding supervisor and a tremendous colleague. He is who you inspired to be. He was kind, sincere, funny, and always had your back. I will miss him. DJ is one of those people who you come across once, maybe twice in a career and someone who leaves an everlasting impression on you. I am very sorry for your loss.

Condolences to the family, DJ was one of the hardest working agents in the office. Enjoyed his laughter, and our mutual love of the Yankees. Spoke about his “girls”, all the time, how blessed he was. Happy I can say he was a friend. RIP buddy.

Dear Jane, Courtney, Katie (Jason) & Lindsey,
I am so sad to hear of the passing of Dennis. He has left us all too soon from a heartbreaking disease.
Dennis was such an important part of my husband Gerry’s life after he returned from Ireland in 1978. The first time I met Gerry in 1979 I met Dennis as well, at The Lodge on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx. Dennis and Gerry worked together at the Associated Supermarket on Kingsbridge Road, while they were attending Manhattan College. They had many liquid lunches together. They also worked delivering Coca Cola all over the Bronx. They both graduated in 1983 from Manhattan College. They played softball, hung out at the Pinewood, the Greenleaf, had a love for the television show Mash4077, and especially a love for the Yankees. Many games were attended at the old stadium, always sitting in Section 8.
Dennis honored us by being in our wedding in 1985. Dennis and Gerry’s career’s and life took them on different paths but when Gerry passed away in 2020, Dennis and his brother came to his Mass during Covid. They joined us for a toast honoring Gerry. Gerry’s dad PJ so enjoyed seeing him that day, he still asks about him. I know that Gerry is up in heaven waiting with an IceCold Budweiser for Dennis.
May God Bless you all during this difficult and heartbreaking time.
“Those we love don’t go away; They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and always dear.”

My condolences and deepest sympathy to the McSweeney Family for your tremendous loss.
DJ was extremely competitive in everything he did. He worked hard and he played hard.
DJ was also a natural leader who led by example. He voiced his own opinion on matters regardless if it was not aligned with managements views.
DJ was an excellent agent and he was respected by all who interacted with him. And, more importantly, DJ was a gentleman and a good and decent man.
Rest in Peace and God Bless You!

DJ, my old friend, I was saddened to learn of your passing. We lost touch with each other over time and it has been many years since we have seen each other or even spoken. I have such great memories of our times together hanging out at the Pinewood, making bash with our secret ingredient for our parties in the Hamptons or going to the Yankees home openers. There are a few other items I could mention but I don’t want to embarrass ourselves.
May God bless you and welcome you into heaven and may God bless your wife and daughters during this tough time. Save a pint for me. We have a lot of catching up to do.
Your old friend Jack Devaney

I will always remember coaching with DJ. No matter how poorly the girls were playing he always had a positive way of presenting it to the girls. He made sure the girls learned the game, gained confidence but mostly had fun. There were countless times he had the entire team to his house for pizza parties. I really enjoyed the football games DJ organized for the dads. There was always so much camaraderie as well as a few injuries, but always well worth the fun.

DJ I remember playing softball against your team and you were always an all or nothing player. I remember you being the consummate leader on the field as the catcher most times. When Bobby and I met each other and became friends I was surprised that you were his brother but I will never forget you from the ball field and how intense you were.
My condolences to your wife and family. May God hold you in the palm of his hands and May perpetual light shine on you.

I first met DJ in Tee Ball in 1996 when he was coaching Courtney and he would also bring Katie. I was in charge of Tee Ball then and I remember meeting him that first day and coming home to tell Kevin that I met someone who I knew he would really like. They immediately hit it off and we were lucky enough to spend many wonderful times together with DJ, Jane and the girls. So many memories of what a wonderful person he truly was. Even got him to a Notre Dame game.
