Obituary of James L. Verboys

Verboys, James L., 80, of Shenorock, NY, died Sunday, August 20^th, 2023, at Westchester Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born on January 4th, 1943, in White Plains, NY to Joseph and Rose Verboys. A graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and The University of Georgia, he served his country during the Vietnam War as a Marine Corps sergeant, enjoyed an accomplished career as an Administrator for the Westchester County Department of Health, contributed to his community as a founding Scoutmaster of Troop 228 of Somers, and enthusiastically - but fairly - called them as he saw them as an Umpire for local Westchester/Putnam County baseball games.

James is the beloved husband of Lorraine Verboys and the loving father of Matt Verboys, Noelle Maoriello (Scott) and Marc Verboys (Kim). He is the devoted grandfather of Aimee Rose and James Patrick Maoriello and is the brother of Joseph R. Verboys (Audrey). He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY 10536 on Friday, August 25, from 4pm-7pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 95 Plumb Brook Rd, Somers, NY 10589 on Saturday, August 26, at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 357 Route 202, Somers, NY 10589.
