Doc was the greatest! I was blessed to be a part of his last class in 2002. I am still in awe that he filled all three performing arts roles. Every school I have taught at has a separate person for all three jobs! The dedication it took to run all three programs at such a high level will always amaze me. A few years ago I was sending out Christmas cards and I was able to find Doc’s address. I sent him a card and he ended up sending me his Christmas card back for the next few years! It was so nice to reconnect. My condolences to the family. Doc will be missed!

During my association with Pleasantville Music Theatre in the late '70s/ and '80s, I became acquainted with Dr. V. His standards raised high school musical theater to a new level. I know he was a lasting influence to many of his former students. My condolences to his family and all those who knew him. It's been 40 years since graduating from PHS. But through all this time I can never forget how much "Doc" encouraged me, inspired me and when needed installed discipline to make sure I realized my true potential. For those 4 years he took his time and patience ( lots of patience) to continue teaching me about life. It paid off and I was able to surprise him with a visit for his 90th and tell him how much of what I am today was due to him. He was a huge part of so many people's lives and we were blessed to have him. My deepest thanks to the Vellutino family for sharing him with us all. And sympathy at the loss of a great man, husband , father etc. To quote the musical Wicked: Because I knew you, I have been changed for good. God bless and rest in peace
