Obituary of William A. Papp

William “Bill” Papp passed away on June 20, 2019 at the age of 70.

Bill was born in 1948 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve for 6 years. He was employed by Consolidated Edison for 41 years where he retired as Manager of Gas Engineering in Bronx, NY in 2009.

Bill relocated to North Salem, NY in 1985 with his wife Susan and lived there for 34 years. He was an active member of the North Salem Lions Club, serving many years as Vice President, and was dedicated to the Screening Eyes Early (SEE) program detecting early childhood vision disorders.

He was an avid skier and enjoyed gardening, travelling and spending time in nature. He leaves behind many lifelong friends who will remember him for his sense of humor, selflessness and willingness to always lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Susan and daughter Laura, sister Barbara and her husband Jeff Mendez, brother Donald and his wife Marie Papp, brother Gary and his wife Susan Papp, sister- in-law Linda and her husband Don Fear, nine nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his parents William and Jeanette Papp and brother David.

Visitation will take place Friday, July 5th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 6th at 10:00 am at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY. An Interment will follow at

11:00 am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY.
