Obituary of Claire Lorraine DeLuca

Claire Lorraine DeLuca, 91, of Bedford Hills, New York, passed away on Monday, November 20th, 2023.  She died peacefully at home with loved ones by her side.  She was born in Queens, New York on March 25th, 1932 to Gladys and Walter Winston.

Claire attended John Adams High School, where she met her late husband, John DeLuca.  She had three children, Cindy DeLuca, John DeLuca, and Karen Basdekis.  She lived and raised her children in Somers, New York.

Claire was a wonderfully kind, compassionate and giving person.  She was always willing to listen and put the needs of others first.  Her greatest joy in life was her family. She especially loved her three grandchildren, and was fortunate to spend time adoring her four great grandchildren.

Claire loved to entertain at her home and was always the life of the party, showcasing her talents in the kitchen with a specific flair for italian cuisine, which she passed down to her children.  She loved spending time planting flowers and making her home a beautiful and welcoming place.  She loved animals, having adopted and raised dogs over the years, and one of her favorite hobbies was watching the birds feed outside of her window.

Claire had a beautiful smile, loved to laugh, and was always quick with a joke.  As a true socialite, she was always first to strike up a conversation and put all family and friends, old or new, quickly at ease.  

She will be greatly missed by the family and friends she treasured.  

Visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Gate of Heaven Church in Ozone Park, Queens, New York at 11:30am on Friday, November 24th, 2023.

Burial will follow at St Johns Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, NY
